The Shore in September

I’ve never been to a beach in September. It’s very different. It’s empty and more peaceful than in the summer, except for the ocean, which is dark and rough. Warmer now than just a few months ago though. The water is often warmer than the air, but again, much too rough for the kids.

But because we are here with my in-laws, Hubby and I have had the rare opportunity to swim together while the boys play in the huge sandbox with Nanna and Papa. It’s been many years since we’ve gotten to swim together in an ocean. Probably not since our honeymoon. So that’s a nice perk, and I believe we have a dinner out for just the two of us in the near future.

I can’t wait to post pictures of the empty beach and the boys playing in the sand. Since Robby is walking now he’s much more active in the beach, learning how to use the shovels and climbing the sand mountains. Trying to keep up with his brother and falling over on the uneven terrain.

  7. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to the beach. September is a great month for vacation because the water is warmer and usually the weather is too. It is when we always came as kids since we were homeschooled. Swimming and dinner out with hubby sounds divine. The pictures are fun!!
